The youth centres organize open activities and small group activities, events, weekend camps and trips. The youth centres are open from 16 to 21 o’clock, so the working hours are mainly in the afternoons and evenings. Weekend time, Friday and Saturday, youth houses are open from 17 to 22 o’clock. All this activities are usually carried out during the leisure time of the youngsters, i. e. in the evenings, and during the weekends and holidays. Youth centre Monde is open mondays to fridays from 8 am until pm. Offers There are youth centres in eight different regions at Rovaniemi: in the city centre, in Korkalovaara (Hilla), Nivavaara (Nappari), Ounasvaara (Loukku) and Ylikylä (Ylläri) as well as the farthest villages surrounded by the Rovaniemi: Muurola (Murkku), Sinettä (Zillari) and Vantauskoski (Vantus). We have also a new Youth centre Monde, which has opened doors for the youngsters over 16 years till 29 years old.

3 What we are looking for YOUTH CENTRE MONDE ROVANIEMI (FINLAND)
”House of opportunities and participation” We are looking for volunteers who are spontaneous, active and positive, have good social skills and positive attitude. The volunteer has to be ready to work during the evenings and the weekends if needed. We hope that the volunteer has basic skills of English. Also the volunteer must be 18 years old or older and should have some experiences with gaming and interested to work with children and youngsters. 4 Aims & Practical Arrangements
We are offering a student shared apartment, close to the youth center a bike for summer and autumn time working five days in a week, two free days per a week pocket money food money mentoring during the whole project time EVS volunteer will be working in the Youth centers and will plan freetime activities for the youngsters. EVS has an opportunity to organize several small projects with youngsters. The projects can take one evening or more, depending what is the aim and purpose for the activity. 6 Small city in the arctic area
Rovaniemi Small city in the arctic area Rovaniemi is a city in the Northern part of Finland in Lapland and it has the largest land area in the Europe. The youth department in Rovaniemi consists of many different activities and they all have the common aim to offer to youngsters equal quality possibilities of participation and collaboration as well as to arrange an interesting and educative program in order to encourage the teenagers. EVS will learn to live in the small city in the arctic area. EVS will also meet the culture of Lapland, quickly changing climate such as spring, summer, autumn and winter. EVS will be part of the youth leaders group. EVS will get to know local youngsters and how the Finnish community youthwork is organized. EVS will also learn to face and work with Finnish youngsters and to use different kind of methods to do this.
