LEARNING AND HEALING THROUGH EXPRESSION Grundtvig learning partnership 2011-2013

Project objectives The main objective is to facilitate a better social reintegration for inmates and to enhance them with abilities and knowledge useful after release. The specific objectives: – turn passive life in prison into an active one – rise awareness and emphasize the importance of learning – develop life skills – therapeutical intervention trough art therapy – expression of anger and stress in creative forms / channels – preparing for release and recidivism prevention Learning and healing through expression

The project seeks solutions for the following problems: Integration and adaptation difficulties of the prisoners to the penitentiary environment Delinquency subculture pressure Insufficient specialized training of the staff involved in the social reintegration Lack of a diversified collaboration of the penitentiary with the community educational environment, meant to complete the prisoners’ reintegration strategy with the help of specialists in education.
